Another groundhog attack on the garden and no hole in sight...

Image
Nothing is more depressing than going out to look over the garden and seeing the devastation from a groundhog.  Trapped 3 so far this year...and I can't find the hole on this one.   In one afternoon it took out all of my carrots, lettuce, half the cabbages and my last surviving pumpkin.  I really need to re-evaluate whether to even do a garden next year. It's a war that cannot be wo n .

The Myth of Growing Your Own Food...

Image
Now that the weather has become inhabitable over the past week, I was able to get back into my garden.  This entailed, harvesting, weeding, replanting, pulling dead plants, etc.  This then necessitates the food preservation process of pickling, fermenting, roasting, freezing, etc.  This is beyond a full time job.  Yesterday alone, I pickled 6 quarts of red beets.  This entails boiling each batch for over an hour, cooling them, removing skins, placing in jars, making a brine, and filling each quart with brine.  And that's just the beets.  I roasted 2 trays of cherry tomatoes with cut up garlic and basil.  Made a double batch of the Santorini tomato fritters requiring cutting up 2 pounds of cherry tomatoes, chopping onions, scallions, basil, oregano, dill, parsley and basil...all after hand picking the said ingredients.  Refrigerate the batter for 2 hours, then deep fry them.  I roasted 2 trays of peppers after de-seeding them, saving seed...

The Queen of Country Music

Image
The Dolly Parton character is a reveal of the system.  This individual is not that talented, did not have so many song hits, and played a nefarious role in society.   This one pushed the injection and allopathic medicine.  The US flying flags at half mast for this type of  creature is a tell on what this so-called country is really all about.   For such a long career... Here I Come Again Jolene I Will Always Love You Islands In the Stream...a Bee Gees song Jolene is the only one that is country  flavored...and this earns the title of "Queen of Country Music". This is false and inaccurate...and typical of the deception of this realm. I have written about this pop star witch in the past. This one must be near the top in the hierarchy of witches....who else could summon Mick Jagger, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Elton John, etc. https://dirtybennywrites.blogspot.com/2023/11/77-year-old-dolly-parton-is-performing.html My nomination for Queen of Country...

Demonic AI explains away Dolly Parton's toast to Azel

Image
Demonic AI explains away what we see.... The phrase "Cheers to the god Azel" attributed to Dolly Parton is a viral internet rumor based on a misheard toast in a video featuring Jennifer Aniston and Sandra Bullock . [ 1 ] Origin of the Rumor The Video: The rumor comes from a casual, fun clip of Dolly Parton, Jennifer Aniston, and Sandra Bullock raising glasses together. The Claim: Online conspiracy theories claimed that Dolly toasted "the god Azel" or "Azazel" (a fallen angel from the Book of Enoch) during the gathering. [ 1 , 2 ] The Reality Misheard Audio: Listeners and lip-readers point out that the audio is very fast and completely ambiguous. No Occult Meaning: There is no factual evidence or intent behind the rumor; it is simply a misconstrued interpretation of a lighthearted moment between friends. [ 1 ]

Singapore launches world-first data center powered by human brain cells

Image
Singapore has launched the world’s first independently operated data center using living human brain cells for some computing tasks, the medical school of the National University of Singapore (NUS Medicine) has said. The system consumes a fraction of the power of traditional computing hardware. The neurons are fed every three days and sustained by dedicated life-support equipment.   NUS Medicine announced the prototype earlier this month in partnership with Singapore-based data center operator DayOne and Australian biotech firm Cortical Labs. Housed at the university, the system is described by its developers as the world’s first independently operated biologically integrated server rack.   The facility comprises 20 CL1 biological computers, each containing at least 200,000 lab-grown human neurons on an electrode-fitted silicon chip. Derived from blood cells reprogrammed into stem cells, the neurons exchange electrical signals with conventional hardware, turning th...

Wasp sting and urine therapy.

Image
I have never been stung by a wasp before.  I was out in the garden picking tomatoes this am, and felt a stinging at my right ankle through my sock.  I looked down and saw a wasp on me.  I ran to the kitchen and peed in a glass, stripped my sock off and dabbed urine all over the area that was stung.  20 minutes later, it is now  90 percent better. Update....it is several hours later and I am painfree with no symptoms.

Exiting the dream.....by choice.

Image
I find dreams to be a place to test our control over our circumstances.  I got up early to go to the flea market this am...only to find out that it was closed due to predicted rain.  I went back home and back to bed.  I find this time after early awakening to be very fruitful for dreaming.  In the dream, I found myself on the roof of this house being constructed.  There were workers all around standing on flimsy staging.  I couldn't find a safe way down to the ground within the parameters of the dream.   I told myself...I want to be out of this situation, opened my eyes, and I was out of the situation.  My model is that dreams are a training ground to help us to deal with challenges that might occur out of body in the afterlife.

Why the NFL is Classified as Sports Entertainment from GLP

Image
I grew up indoctrinated into football and the NFL.  It is just another deception of this place.  The Nfl Has A License To Play Sports? The NFL, a major professional sports league in the United States and Canada, is considered a form of sports entertainment, with the primary focus being on competitive sports. Its legal status does not matter, as it is legal to fix the outcomes of sports in the US as long as it is for entertainment purposes and not for sports. The NFL has an Anti-Trust Exemption to the law granted to it by President John F. Kennedy, which allows the NFL to classify itself as “sports entertainment” business.  This classification allows the NFL to legally influence game outcomes, similar to the WWE, and can legally fix the outcome of games. The NFL’s media rights deal is the biggest in the U.S., at $111 billion over 11 years. In 2000, the NFL’s teams agreed that each team would license its trademarks and logos exclusively to a jointly-selected monopoly licens...

What happens when you wake up to antinatalism after you've already had children? This episode is about the pain of realising you can't protect your children from suffering, can't control who they become, and can't stop them from making the same reproductive gamble you once made. A brutally honest conversation about parenthood, regret, antinatalism, religion, DNA, conditioning, and the loneliness that comes with refusing to play along. Sometimes the hardest part of waking up is discovering that you woke up too late.

Subjective Reality....Colour My World

Image
One of the things that I know for certain is that I do not know how others experience this place.  I argue that no one knows how anyone is experiencing this place at any point in time.  Moreover, even our younger self experienced a different reality than our present self.  Factors to be considered in confirming one's own subjective reality include 1. Age   I could never experience the world now as I did when I was younger.  My life experience has given me a different lens through which I interact with this place.  2. Painful experiences   Our main goal in life is to avoid pain, then to seek pleasure.  If I had a terrifying experience with a dog as a child, it colors my experience of meeting a dog today.  My reality is different.  3. Sex   A male and a female will NEVER experience this place similarly, especially in early years.  A male is interested in copulating with as many females as possible.  The female...

QOC vs. Sanity Machine you decide who is right.

Image
I recommend skipping this first QOC video as I find it to be repetitive, tedious, and simplistic. On some level, I find Matt's take on the afterlife experience to be purposely deceptive.  I do recommend Stephen's video criticizing Matt on  his presentation.  As Stephen says, this realm is predicated on deception.  We have no reason to expect the afterlife to be different.  Just as we know not to interact with police here, with training, we know how to avoid bad circumstances.    By training on knowing what potential deceptions my exist in the afterlife, we will be prepared to avoid traps.

The internet is good for something...

Image
I have had a bountiful harvest of tomatoes and cherry tomatoes in particular.  In the past, I had struggled with making these Greek tomato fritters.  I have since learned to add an egg and extra water and flour to get the right  batter consistency. I now have the technique perfected.  The wonderful thing about these is it uses fresh herbs of basil, parsley, dill, and mint so they are really flavorful even without tzatziki. The deep frying did make a mess of my baking racks.  As I was struggling to scrub the racks, I thought I would check the internet.  Reddit usually gives me the best results.  Many folks said to dump a cup of ammonia in a garbage bag and seal the racks inside for 24 hours.  I gave it a try and my racks look brand new.  So....the internet is good for something.

Rich Little and Linda Ronstadt at the flea market

Image
A nightly ritual when I was growing up was watching the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson each night.  One of my favorite guests was Rich Little.  In all of my years of collecting autographs, Rich Little eluded me. I have recently been rewatching some of the old Tonight Shows.  What are the odds that I am at the flea market this am and find an old Rich Little program autographed for five dollars?  Beyond chance.  In the next aisle over, I found a Linda Ronstadt scrapbook from the late 1970's for four dollars.  She was a major league crush of mine as a sixteen year old.  Beyond chance. Sunday morning...watching the hummingbird wars.

Image
Now that the temperatures have dropped into the low to mid 80's , the realm is livable once again.  After I got back from the flea market, I made myself a cappucino and sat on my swing.  The hummingbird wars were in full swing. There were at least 3-4 different ones fending off their territory.  Divebombing one after another. I populate my back deck with 10-12 firecracker plants which are like crack to hummingbirds. It is amazing how aggressive and territorial these small creatures are.

New Orleans Becomes First Major U.S. City To Let AI Answer 911

Image
One of the scariest places I ever visited was New Orleans.  My girlfriend at the time booked our stay at an old traditional second floor house in the French Quarter.  The first night, I kept hearing ominous noises....someone coming up the steps, voices.  I demanded that we leave the next am and we moved to a  Hilton.  Something is very creepy about that place.  It does not surprise me that AI would be rolled out there to a greater degree.  New Orleans is testing just how much Americans are willing to trust artificial intelligence when the stakes are considerably higher than writing an email or ordering dinner,   according to the New York Post . The city has begun allowing an AI system to field certain 911 calls, apparently making it the first major U.S. municipality to put a bot directly between emergency callers and human operators. The idea is largely about volume. New Orleans' emergency communications center receives more than 1,000 calls on a ...

Finding the needle in the haystack.

Image
Today was one of the few days of the week that I venture off the compound...today, by necessity.  I was trying to make an online purchase with my debit card.  I called the customer service line and they told me that my card was deactivated.  No notice, no reason, just deactivated. I went to the local branch and all of the ladies were sympathetic to my plight and helped me out.  It is a Portugese community and they have empathy for the elderly.  One of the girls remarked about the troubles with 2 point verification for somebody who doesn't have a cellphone such as myself.  There was the flicker of humanity in these ladies, drowning in the technologic marass.  I then went to the local Polish deli.  It is truly a throwback to the past.  The owner is behind the deli cases, slicing up ham and cheeses for the customers in the long line.  Despite the delay, there is incredibly good cheer.  The lady in front of me speaking fluent Polish, sm...

What Makes This Song Great? "Bohemian Rhapsody" QUEEN (Feat. Brian May) Rick Beato

Image
I have been going through a lot of Rick Beato's interviews with songwriters and performers.  This one was especially of interest as a musician.  Rick reviews the complexities of the chords, harmonies, and recording of Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody.   I posit that there is no way that this is of human origin.  In the "song" itself, Mercury tells the tale of murder and "nothing really matters."  This is overlooked in the discussion with Brian May....I believe purposely.   These layered chords and harmonies are beyond even the most gifted jazz musicians.

The Providence Verbena Setlist

Image
I totally forgot that they did a cover of My Funny Valentine which ended up one of my favorite Chet Baker tunes... How is that for beyond a synch?   Not to mention that another one of my faves, Elvis Costello covered the Chet Baker version.

This place knows no limit on the way it tortures me.

Image
Aside from all of my physical ailments, this reality is a never ending series of tortures. In the midst of another 90 degree heat wave, the one room that I have air conditioned had water all over the floor, damaging artwork and the bamboo floor.  After 2 hours with a repairman tonight, the condenser is cracked and the unit needs to be replaced. I have amazon Prime, still, the earliest delivery is Wednesday...So I have to struggle through 2 more days of 90 plus degree temperatures with no A/C. Then I come home from the flea market and get my mail...my mailbox is filled with wasps who are desperately attacking my car. Just make it end.

The Billy Joel Interview Rick Beato

Image
Outstanding interview with Billy Joel focused on how he writes songs, the structure of some of his greatest hits, and the role of classical music in his life.  Extremely enjoyable. As someone who has played musical instruments since my teens, I find both Billy Joel and Paul Simon to be totally believable as to their song writing process.
