Terrific comment from YouCanCallMeAl on the Fakeologist blog

The below exchange was from the comments on the Fakeologist blog.  Al has always impressed me with his open mind and clear analysis.  This is another example.

Ancient Rome built its structures to last by using concrete, produced with a more rudimentary cement mixer and crane system, where people ran inside large wheels to move it—often falling to their deaths due to the lack of safety support. People knew that they wouldn’t live to see the completion of some of these buildings, but they loved being a part of their race so much that they were compelled to contribute to their culture—unlike today

It’s not that some forgotten race were responsible for this; it’s that European architecture has been shitcanned.

Neither you nor I have any idea about ‘Ancient Rome’, whether people fell to their deaths using cranes or whether they had bacon sandwiches with cups of tea. We don’t know whether they loved being part of their race. I don’t even know if my neighbour today ‘loves being a part of his race’ – and I’ve spoken to him. I don’t know that they were compelled or desired to contribute to their culture – who the hell are these “they” anyway – do “they” have names? It is a forgotten race – neither you nor I remember them, nor does anyone else.
What you are listing and imagining to be true are stories you have been told. You have NO experience of any of it – you only have experience of school lessons and videos – this is the extent of your knowledge. Perhaps this sort of imaginative exercise is something you like to undertake – great – I can enjoy works of fiction as much as the next person, albeit I prefer something original. But these stories are not something you know – you shouldn’t parrot things as if they were true, when you do not know this. This is actually a form of lie.
Are able consider the possibility that the stories are fake?

  1. Completely agree. We are all Westworld characters living with just an imprinted background story. Putting all the pieces of true evidence together, which includes many pated up photos, this current realm started about 1880.

  2. My Lunch Break makes many videos that explain how previous civilizations would be responsible for that kind of building, since donkeys and power tools wouldn't have been sufficient. There must have been a catastrophe, then repopulation happened. My cemetary has head stones dated in the 1700's so the event would have to go back farther than that. There is more information being released everyday so eventually truth will come out and we will have solid answers.

    1. I have posted many MLB's here in the past. Nowadays, not so much. The ads and push for money leave a sour taste in my mouth. Not sure about committing to trying to figure this place out. It is a hall of mirrors and rabbit holes, constantly delivering unbelievable ridiculous explanations for our predicament. If this is a simulation, they could program stories, buildings, music, personalities, etc. into it. What is clear is they thrive on our attention and emotions. Thanks for your comment, best regards, db
