Kissing and clapping..rituals of the realm

Before my Mom left this place, she often commented on how bizarre the human body appears.  Even if you look at a lateral skull radiograph, the teeth and jaws appear ominous.  Yet we are accustomed to rarely pay attention to these things.  We have human waste expelled through or near sex organs, which we are programmed to covet.  

I recently had a dream where I was french kissing a girl.  Afterwards, I contemplated what a bizarre ritual that kissing and french kissing is.  The tongue is a band of muscle with taste buds and nerve sensors in it.  We are programmed to want to put this band of muscle in the mouth of the opposite sex, yet if one takes a step back, it really is a strange ritual.

Similarly, we are taught to clap our hands together in a response of celebration or appreciation.  Smacking our hands together repeatedly over and over.  Would we ever do this if we were not indoctrinated to this ritual by the culture?  I doubt it.
