Space Toys Major Matt Mason from Mattel and others
Major Matt Mason was an action figure created by Mattel. He was an astronaut who lived and worked on the Moon. When introduced in 1966, the figures were initially based on design information found in Life Magazine, Air Force Magazine, Jane's, and other aviation- and space-interest periodicals. Later, the line attempted to transition into the realm of science fiction.
A 3D film based on the toy series was announced in 2011, with a tentative budget of $100 million and Tom Hanks set to star.[3][4] A script was in development, co-written by Hanks and Graham Yost, about Major Matt Mason, an astronaut who lives and works on the Moon.[5][6][7] The producers were trying to reach an agreement with Robert Zemeckis to direct the film.[8] On September 7, 2019, Paramount Pictures acquired the film and Akiva Goldsman producing with Hanks and writing a script based on Michael Chabon's short story about Mason.[9]
Looks like they will release that Major Mason movie soon since Tom is recently giving a movie tour at Space Center Houston. "The Moonwalkers: A Journey with Tom Hanks," was co-written and narrated by the Academy Award-winning actor. In the film, he tells the story of the Apollo missions, when humans landed on the moon six times up until 1972.
ReplyDeleteI don't believe anyone landed on the moon. Send in agent Tom to keep the hoax going.
Thank you for the information. You know they go after the heart of vulnerable children. I cherish my Matt Mason figure that my parents bought for me for Christmas in the 1960's. It really creates a schism in our reality...having the attachment to something your parents bough for you and recognizing the lie and manipulation. I appreciate your input...best regards, db
