You’re clueless. I’ve had many employees over the years, and I’ve found that when I hired good people, they need to be managed “loosely” with generous flexibility to get the most production and loyalty from them.
This is a whole new world you can’t begin to relate to. It’s MICRO-management to a level you never experienced. They literally score how many times you YAWN, your typing speed, your tone of voice, when you look away from your monitor, how many minutes you’re over the completely fabricated limit of time to be speaking with someone on the phone, your bathroom breaks, how long you take for a piss, and more.
You have NO idea.
I’ve been doing contract work for different companies for years, self-managed, self-supervised, paying for my own office and equipment, and expenses. I don’t need to be “managed”, but this level of micro-management is a phenomenon that’s been rapidly implemented across the board with all major companies.
You’re living in the past.
Be grateful that you can.
