This is the type of music I enjoy these days...

 


I had a terrific conversation from Brian from Ohio in the comments on the Soundgarden video.  I referenced the type of music I listen to currently.  The Dave Brubeck Quartet featuring Paul Desmond is my favorite.  I am grateful to my Dad for educating me on Jazz up till his passing. As a teen, I went to local concerts with him including Count Basie and Dizzy Gillespie.  I even took my grandmother to a Benny Goodman concert.   If it were not for my Dad, I would never have heard of Art Tatum, Chet Baker, Gerry Mulligan, Paul Desmond, etc.  Up to his leaving, I would call him on Sundays and let him know what Jazz LPs I found at the flea market.   A touching memory that I embrace.
