I Voted sticker
It is funny how you look back on your life experiences and some just make you cringe. How could I have behaved that way?
Back in 2017-2018, I was still going to the gym for daily workouts and had a handful of guys around my age that I would occasionally chat with.
I had just come into the main gym and they used open cubicles to store your gym bag. One of my acquaintances just walked in next to me, married male late 50's. He had a sticker on and he pointed to it...and said "I voted".
I said "Do you believe that makes a difference in anything? I rattled on about the Trilateral Commission, Club of Rome, etc regurgitating trutherspeak" I thought he was going to cry. This man in his late 50's, looked crushed. It was as if I told him Santa Claus wasn't real.
I felt bad immediately. He swallowed and said, "At least it makes me feel good."
I said, "That's good."....trying to retreat away from the conflict I exacerbated. Not handled in the best way by yours truly. The ironic part is that I was just as indoctrinated to a world view by TRUTHERWORLD.
that really resonates; this has been a tough question to dodge with acquaintances for certain, cheers and thanks
ReplyDeleteI decided to share this post as an example of how my behaviour and response has changed over the years. I am embarassed at my prior response, but that is how it went down. Thanks for your comment, best regards, db
