Distraction, Opportunity and Bus Stops The Irish Megaphone
When it rains, it pours. This reality senses vulnerability in you and pounces on it. I ended up with a mouse infestation in my basement damaging several irreplaceable items. After healing myself psychologically from that, I did my weekly run for errands. I went to this wonderful Polish market that reminds me of the stores of my youth, run by the mother, father, and daughter. It was jammed with people. Everyone there spoke Polish and was kind and caring, in good cheer. My next stop was for frozen shrimp. When I came out, my car wouldn't start. I tried a dozen times and it wouldn't start, despite it having run fine all morning. I called AAA for help. Two and a half hours later, a tech showed up, jump started my battery and followed me to a local dealership. I had a new battery installed one year ago. Another 2 hours waiting for them to assess my car. They said that the alternator was dead. It would take days to find another one.
So while I was waiting on my car assessment, I watched everyone around buried in screens. It is really odd to see as I don't go out much. One that really disturbed me was a young mother (20's) standing cradling her infant child.in one hand, scrolling with the phone in the other hand. She would intermittently lean down and kiss the top of the child's head. The infant had its neck craned around with its eyes glued to the screen of her phone, ignoring the mother. I do wonder, where is this all leading.
I do believe that THEY know.
