Coping mechanisms.....HEAVEN vs. ENDLESS AGELESS TIMELESS ETERNAL SPIRIT
Perhaps the most brutal element of this place is death and the lack of knowledge of pre-incarnation or post-incarnation.
From the mainstream religions, we are given the concept of heaven, where one will be reunited with our all-loving creator and our loved ones.
On the other hand, our alternative spiritual gurus will tell us that we are all timeless ageless eternal spirits that have always been and always will be.
From the evidence, all we know is that a person's body dies and we have no evidence that the spirit of that person still exists. It is one helluva black pill that most will reject, but that is what there is hard cold evidence for. One might bring up pre-birth memories under hypnosis or NDE evidence. All of that is circumstantial and not completely convincing to me.
We don't know what happens at death...and we have no evidence that we are timeless, ageless spirits.
I listen to a lot of polka music and they often refer to the great polka band it the sky for those who have passed away. Heaven...the coping mechanism for those refusing to accept the nature of this place. They create stories to cope with the pain and suffering. I don't blame them, but I also don't accept their coping mechanisms. Even in THEIR music...rock and roll...they have their ROCK AND ROLL HEAVEN.
If you believe in forever
Then life is just a one-night stand
If there's a rock n' roll heaven
Well you know they've got a hell of a band, band, band
Jimi gave us rainbows
And Janis took a piece of our hearts
And Otis brought us all to the dock of a bay
Sing a song to light my fire, remember Jim that way
They've all found another place, another place to play
If you believe in forever
Then life is just a one-night stand
If there's a rock n' roll heaven
Well you know they've got a hell of a band, band, band
Remember bad bad Leroy Brown
Hey Jimmy touched us with that song
Time won't change a friend we came to know
And Bobby gave us Mack the Knife
Well look out, he's back in town
They'll all be there together
When they meet in one big show
If you believe in forever
Then life is just a one-night stand
If there's a rock n' roll heaven
Well you know they've got a hell of a band, band, band
There's a spotlight waiting
No matter who you are
'Cause everybody's got a song to sing
Everyone's a star
(Everybody's got to be a star)
If you believe in forever
Then life is just a one-night stand
If there's a rock n' roll heaven
Well you know they've got a hell of a band
If you believe in forever
Then life is just a one-night stand
If there's a rock n' roll heaven

Thank you for this post.
ReplyDeleteMy mother commited suicide in January and I found her body. I hope her soul went to a paradise like place (separate from this time and space) where other loved ones and pets has waited for her - but I can't know for sure.
The thought of it is comforting and helps me cope with the grief. I really hope I will meet her there, when my time comes.
I am so sorry for your loss. It is part of the trauma of this place. I found out that my Mom died from my accountant. "Sorry to hear about your Mom"...i asked why...he told me she passed away. I remember exactly where I was, checking on my seedlings in the basement. The accountant's wife tried to stop him from talking to me to avoid disclosure agreements. This place is brutally traumatic. To an extent, I have become numb to it as a coping mechanism. Why encourage us to form these emotional bonds with people...only to have them ripped away from us with no explanation or expectation?
DeleteI wish you the best in dealing with your trauma. Best regards, db
Henrik and Benny, condolences. My mother as well in 2020, though I am "comforted" with the likelihood she is back here now, prolly 3 years old by now. Benny will agree with this, that we are actually in hell right now, and we will all keep coming back until we figure out the concept of No Self. Cheers.
DeleteThe real torment is not knowing the fate of our loved ones. I remember going to my first funeral and how bizarre it was. I remember my grandmother on my Mom's side just gone. I would carry a small wooden chair to raise her legs to quash CHF so she could breathe...and then one day, she's just gone. The trauma here is overwhelming. I work daily on healing from it. It is important to rejuvenate empathy for our fellow brothers and sisters. Thanks for your comment, best, db
