Does time change depending on your environment?

Yesterday, I went out to a local supermarket.  People were flying around me in a blur of color and noise.  I felt like a loose dog in the middle of a busy highway.  I was just trying to avoid a collision.  It was overwhelming to my senses.   The store workers were flying around similarly.  I tried to stop someone to ask a question.  They slurred something which I didn't understand.  I just wanted to instinctively leave as quickly as possible.

I am very ill-suited to this civilization.

One of the things I enjoy this time of year in the Northeast is apple cider.  Today, I decided to trek to 4 Rhode Island orchards to sample their cider.   I tried one from the supermarket and it had too many artificial flavor overtones to it, despite supposedly not having additives.  The 4 family orchards that I visited today use no preservatives and do not pasteurize.  I look forward to trying them over the next several evenings.  My taste has started to return once again.  FF has encouraged me to take daily honey which has helped me to achieve a semi-livable state.

The time at the orchards was more in synch with my body.  I didn't feel threatened or lost.  Chickens roamed about freely pecking for food.   A few well-mannered teens staffed the orchard stores. They spoke clearly.   I could understand them.  They did not have phones.
