These 'architect' characters remind me of Steve Jobs, Elon Musk, Bill Gates, actors, front men, 'cut-outs' who didn't invent or build a damn thing. All of the tech is handed to them by the military and who knows who hands it to them.

  I propose that none of the pop musicians, actors, celebrities, government officials are what they present as. Multiple people claim they saw 8 to 10 foot aliens or very tall zombies and it caused shoppers panic. There are now black helicopters flying and everything is blocked off.
