It never made sense to me.  How did this primitive band called the Beatles playing Little Richard and Chuck Berry covers go on to record incredibly complex and complicated music of Rubber Soul and Sgt.  Pepper?  It was not a natural progression musically.  It is obvious why they stopped touring.  They could not perform these songs. They were constructed in studios.
