I had a magical day at the flea market today....the last flea market of the year.   I was planning on skipping it, as it has been getting colder and colder in the morning.  I spoke with FF yesterday and told her that I was going to skip the market today. As I was doing my daily journalling last night, I was recounting my recent flea market finds.   3 to 4 weeks ago, I saw an autographed Reggie Jackson jersey at the market.  The seller wanted 100 dollars for it and I passed on it.  I later researched Jackson jerseys and saw how ridiculously expensive they were.  I went back for the next several weeks looking for the seller and did not see the jersey.  I was writing about this last night in my journal and my focused attention pushed me to see if I could make it materialize this morning.  Reggie Jackson, along with Vida Blue were my favorite players in baseball.  I have never seen a signed jersey for sale at this flea market in my 30 p...

As yours truly collected autographs for years, I learned to identify autopens and facsimiles early on. JFK used the Autopen pervasively. As did Reagan.... I remember meeting Burt Ward in his Robin uniform at a local car show in the 1970's.  He was selling photos with a facsimile signature.  He would then personalize it by handwriting, "To Tom". After he wrote, "To dirtybenny", I asked him to sign the photo.  He said it is already signed.  I said, "Could you sign it again?"  which he did as he realized I saw through the illusion as a young teen. 

 

JLB continues to ask the big questions.   My comments are below... @dirtybenny1 2 days ago I am a big proponent of journalling...having a conversation with myself in physical writing. As I am rereading my writings from my past 40 years, it is enlightening to say the least. I have conversations with myself...in a forgiving healing manner. I can't believe what you have been through (me). They are all attempts to heal trauma, often forgotten episodes from the past. Similar to Howdie Mickoskie's efforts to recapitulate a life, I am interested in continuing to explore myself and my past, heal traumas, understand my prior self. JlB , you continue to ask pertinent questions and address big issues.
