Technological Hijinks and a crashed cuckoo clock
This past week has been extremely frustrating with the technology around me playing games with me. One day my coffee machine doesn't work. I spend an hour on the phone with Jura Capresso customer service walking me through possible solutions. None of them work. I make arrangements to send it in for service. They then tell me that the model is too old and they no longer service it. I then look up a local repairman to take the unit to. Right before I contact him, I plugged it in and tried to make coffee. Of course it made perfect coffee all day long. Today, nonfunctional. Arrrggh
I keep my music collection on an external hard drive. 2 days straight, I couldn't get it to power up out of the blue. I plug and unplug it hundreds of time till it finally booted up and Windows recognized it. I made another copy of it as backup. It then worked for a week, till yesterday, it decides to not boot up again. Just when I was about to permanently disconnect it last night, it boots up and is functioning perfectly.
My alarm system was coming on each day at 5 am for no reason. I finally decided to just turn it on and off each day. I am now getting decent sleep with no 5 am alarm.
It really feels as if the technology around me is purposely messing with me to cause stress and attempt to put me off balance.
What are the chances that 5 minutes after finishing this post, I pulled the weights on my cuckoo clocks and one came crashing off the wall. I am now gluing it back together. Perhaps it is not just the technology, but rather the reality itself messing with me.

Wow, where to start. First off, you make your own coffee. Melitta do it yourself, 1 teaspoon coffee and boiling water.
ReplyDeleteSecond, music collection. Keep it in albums, protect it digitally. And remember it is "You" that is likely projecting this segment.
Yep., blame the victim...that is always the answer of this civilization....beyond words...db
DeleteOmg! Db, I’m so sorry that happened to you. Hopefully you got the cuckoo clock fixed. This reality messes with you for sure. Well best of luck! Xoxo. Florida flamingo !
ReplyDeleteThanks, FF....spent yesterday morning gluing the wood back together. Taking my coffee machine to a repairman tomorrow in your neck of the woods. Thanks for your care...best, db
DeleteOh good! Okay, good luck! Hopefully you get your coffee machine fixed! Just Breath and get through it! Best wishes! Ff
ReplyDeleteI am fine...I just recognize these patterns. I don't believe they are by chance. Thanks, db
